This application claims to offer a “forensic system and method” for analyzing medical data to detect fraudulent opiate prescriptions. However, an in-depth examination reveals a web of lies and misrepresentations, shedding light on King’s sinister intentions.
King’s patent application consists of two main sections, the ABSTRACT and the FORENSIC SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING FRAUD, ABUSE, AND DIVERSION IN THE PRESCRIPTIVE USE OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES.

In summary, on October 29, 2019, Timothy E. King, MD, submitted to the United States Patent Office an application for a patent that purports to be a “forensic system and method, including a methodology, for analyzing medical and pharmacy data to determine the legitimacy of controlled substance prescription and use, and to detect fraud, abuse, and/or diversion of controlled substances.”
Within the ABSTRACT, Dr. King asserts with knowing falsity that his system will provide a legal conclusion to the question of whether a physician has deviated from two purported standards of care pertaining to the dispensation of opiates.
The two purported standards of care are: (i) “outside the usual course of medical practice”; (ii) “for other than legitimate medical purposes”. Dr. King knows that these purported standards have no foundation in the scientific or medical literature and constitute an application of an arbitrary rule, as he knows no specific definition exists in the medical or legal literature of these terms.
King knows that the categorization of his input data fails to incorporate all the variables of a typical pain patient history, examination, and diagnostic studies and that the categorization produces false data. King’s knowing input of false data is purposed to produce a false outcome that concludes the subject physician did violate the purported and unsubstantiated standards.
Manipulating Standards of Care: King’s patent application introduces purported standards of care related to opiate prescription, devoid of any scientific or medical foundation. These standards serve as a smoke screen for his fraudulent methodology, allowing him to pass off his opinions as objective conclusions.
Ignoring the Subjective Nature of Pain: King’s patent application fails to account for the subjective nature of pain, a critical factor in determining appropriate opiate doses. Despite recognizing this limitation, King knowingly incorporates false data to produce predetermined outcomes that accuse physicians of violating his unsubstantiated standards.
FEDERAL COURT DETERMINES DR. TIMOTHY MUNZING’S (SMCS) TESTIMONY NOT CREDIBLE
Case No. 2:19-cr-202 Judge Michael H. Watson: Defendant Dr. Thomas J Romano was charged with thirty-four counts of unlawfully distributing a controlled substance. See Superseding Indictment, ECF No. 30. From August 1 through August 12, 2022, the Court presided over the Defendant’s trial. See ECF Nos. 72, 75, 77, 78-83, & 86. The Jury returned a verdict of acquittal as to ten counts and a guilty verdict as to the other counts. See ECF No. 87.
While the jury was deliberating, the Defendant moved to dismiss the indictment based on newly disclosed impeachment material on one of the government’s experts, Dr.Timothy Munzing(“Dr.Munzing”)
That summary strongly suggested that Dr. Munzing’s DEA Hearing testimony undermined or contradicted some of his central points on the stand in this case. See id. At 11-17. A subsequent review of the DEA Hearing Transcript confirmed that, at the DEA Hearing, Dr. Munzing gave contradictory testimony to the testimony he offered in this trial.
