Clarence Verdel, MD:
Clarence Verdell, MD of Voorhees, NJ, a psychiatrist for 28 years who treated patients addicted to opioids with an FDA-approved medication, became the subject of another DEA investigation.
The DEA accused him of overprescribing Suboxone (a medication used for drug addicts) to sell to drug addicts. Dr. Verdell stated in several articles;
“We healers who have dedicated most of our lives to treating people suffering from diseases: The Art of Medicine. Yet we have become sacrificial lambs of DOJ-DEA in the rise of American fascism.”
DEA: A RENEGADE FEDERAL INSTITUTION
The DEA is a renegade federal institution, A Criminal Enterprise of the United States Government, and “few legal rules meaningfully constrain the police in the drug war,” according to noted author Michelle Alexander Esq in her book, “The New Jim Crow.”
“Defendants are typically denied meaningful legal representation, pressured by the threat of lengthy sentences into a plea bargain, and then placed under formal control—in prison or jail, on probation or parole.
Upon release, ex-offenders are discriminated against legally for the rest of their lives, and most will eventually return to prison. They are members of America’s new under caste.”

Such procedure tactics are used against your local doctor, pharmacist, nurse, or dentist. Once swept into the system by physicians like psychiatrist Clernce Verdel, emergency surgeon, and pain specialist Steven Henson, chances of being truly free are slim, often to the vanishing point.
States Must Stop Criminalizing Medicine, AMA Delegates Say

CHICAGO — “The criminalization of medicine is taking its toll on physicians — and not just those who perform abortions, members of the American Medical Association (AMA) House of Delegatesopens in a new tab or window said here Saturday during the AMA annual meeting.
“A doctor who can’t get in trouble for malpractice because no patient has been harmed can end up in federal prison for 20-plus years because they prescribed off-guidelines,” said Stuart Gitlow, MD, MPH, MBA, of New York City, a delegate for the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).
“This is unacceptable. It’s been unacceptable for more than two decades now. And it’s time for us to push back.” Gitlow spoke at an AMA reference committee meeting in favor of a resolution introduced by ASAM that called for the AMA to “study the rapidly changing environment in which the practice of medicine has been criminalized” and how that affects medical practice.
The resolution also sought a report to the delegates by the AMA June 2024 annual meeting. ASAM’s resolution was discussed in conjunction with a similar resolution from the New York delegation.
Gitlow noted that the Controlled Substances Act “requires that physicians who prescribe controlled substances do so by issuing the prescription for a legitimate medical purpose.” Still, the Justice Department sees it differently from physicians.
The department “has said on multiple indictments, that if somebody departs from guidelines, such as by prescribing a medication off-label, for instance, that they are then not acting in the usual course of professional practice, and therefore, they are subject to indictment,” he said. “
As a result, we have past presidents of three different state addiction societies and multiple pain medicine societies, who are either under indictment, have been raided, or are in prison.”

“The Department of Justice is using advanced data analytics to discover suspicious healthcare activity, enabling the agency to crack down on healthcare fraud.
Through analytics, 16 people in Michigan and Ohio — including 12 physicians — were sentenced last year for their roles in submitting more than $250 million in false claims and illegally distributing more than 6.6 million opioid pills.
The Healthcare Fraud Prevention Partnership (HFPP) is a voluntary public-private partnership that helps detect and prevent healthcare fraud through data and information sharing. Partners include federal government, state agencies, law enforcement, private health insurance plans, and healthcare anti-fraud associations. Data analyzed by the DOJ’s Health Care Fraud Unit uncovered a list of doctors who gave patients an unusually high number of expensive back pain injections.
It was determined that the doctors refused to give the patients opioid prescriptions unless they agreed to receive the medically unnecessary injections. The physicians then submitted claims for the injections, which offer a high reimbursement rate from Medicare, Medicaid, and other health insurance programs.
The case arose entirely out of data analytics and not tips from sources, says Jacob Foster, acting principal assistant chief of the DOJ’s Health Care Fraud Unit.
“Data analytics is essential to everything we do in the Health Care Fraud Unit,” Foster says. “It is the use of data that allows us to catch white-collar criminals faster, more efficiently, and more effectively than we ever have before.”

Unfortunately, the government’s resultant rush to use its new tools in such a sweeping manner has resulted in many innocent physicians, clinics, hospitals, and health systems being accused of wrongdoing for simply being different from their peers. The fact is that being a statistical outlier or anomaly should only be treated as a basis for further inquiry, not as proof of fraud.

These overprescribed, over-the-counter medications help the pharmacies, and the pharmaceuticals make money while I, and millions of other victims, continue to suffer.
