ASHLEY RODGERS: REFUSING PAIN PATIENTS TO BE MISCHARACTERIZED AS ADDICTS:

In this same spirit, Ashley stands up to flawed policies that threaten the lives of those suffering from chronic pain.

She advocates for the dignity of individualized care, refusing to allow patients to be overlooked or mischaracterized as addicts when they seek necessary treatments

PAIN MARCH: OCTOBER 2022

WHEN ALI VELSHI GETS IN WRONG

Ali Velshi in his September 7, 2024 MSNBC Weekend presentation of the Mindy McGinnis book “Heroine” ignores the complexity of human biology, and how the CDC guidelines have undermined the well-being of millions who suffer from chronic pain to seek,”unrestricted medicare care.”

“..a fierce dedication to the cause, and a deep understanding of the science behind pain management..”

Ali Velshi (@alivelshi)

Just like the Irish leaders who fought for autonomy and justice, Ashley Rodgers raises her voice against the misinterpretation of addiction and dependence. She points to the confusion perpetuated by the CDC guidelines between addiction, physical dependence, and pseudo-addiction.

The CDC Guidelines, she argues, conflate physical dependence on opioids with addiction, leading many clinicians to unjustly stigmatize pain patients.

“What we’re seeing isn’t addiction,” Ashley contends. “It’s pseudo-addiction—people in genuine pain, mislabeled and misunderstood by a system that’s forgotten compassion.”

Citing experts like Dr. Nora Volkow of the National Institute on Drug Abuse, Ashley explains that addiction is not a predictable outcome of opioid prescribing.

Ashley points out, the fear generated by the misleading CDC guidelines that has led to clinicians abandoning their duty to treat pain.

PAIN IS REAL

She demands a re-examination of these guidelines, urging policymakers to embrace the nuance necessary for compassionate, effective care.

This book chronicles one doctor’s journey to understanding the challenges faced by patients with chronic pain and addiction and the persecution of physicians striving to alleviate their suffering. In the United States today, millions of patients with severe chronic pain and addiction are being denied proper care by their doctors. Not because of evidence-based principles but because their doctors are afraid.

ASHLEY ROGER’S VOICE ESCAPES FROM THE COUNTER ENLIGHTMENT REPRESENTED IN THE ESCAPE FROM PLEASANTVILLE

ASHLEY RODGERS: STEAD FAST INPURSUIT OF JUSTICE

Ashley Rodgers, like the Fighting Irish and the visionary creators of Brú na Bóinne, is a beacon of resilience.

Pain

Her advocacy is a testament to the Irish spirit—unyielding in the face of oppression, steadfast in pursuit of justice.

Just as the Irish resisted the might of the British Empire, Ashley resists the institutional forces that seek to limit the care of pain patients.

Her fight is not just about changing guidelines. It’s about human dignity, the right to compassionate care, and the recognition of individual needs.

CDC DEA ENGAGED IN AN UNLAWFUL ACT OF ERASING HISTORY

JASON STANLEY: He shows that authoritarians have learned how to attack a shared understanding from the past and present.

Her advocacy is a call to action, urging legislators to reconsider flawed guidelines and stand with the millions of Americans who suffer from chronic pain.

With the strength of her Irish roots and the fire of her conviction, Ashley continues to fight for pain patients, proving that one voice, when determined enough, can challenge the Mightiest Institutions.

A group of Black Pharmacy Owners found themselves under racist attack by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). They organized together along with a diverse group of Black Scholars into a Think Tank called the North Star Pharmacy Group and began identifying and exposing systemic racial drug policies and injustices in healthcare delivery policies within both DEA/DOJ. They’ve further exposed racial targeting of black owned pharmacy businesses and physicians by DEA/DOJ; there is a demand for Congress to ACT, to investigate this agency.
