The DEA’s Unconstitutional 5th Generation War Against Doctors and Patients
In a world where the lines between law enforcement and criminality blur, the narrative of the DEA’s war against doctors and patients takes a dark turn, reminiscent of the chilling atmosphere of the film Sicario.

This article delves into the DEA’s use of predictive data analytics against marginalized communities, drawing parallels with the film’s brutal depiction of the war on drugs and the tactics of 5th generation warfare.
The Parallel Universe: From Cartels to Clinics
In Sicario, we see a covert operation designed to control the drug trade by eliminating rival cartels. The DEA’s new mission, however, is not against cartels but rather the medical community, particularly those prescribing pain medication.
This dystopian vision reflects the agency’s shift from targeting street-level drug dealers to surveilling and prosecuting medical professionals and their patients.
Kate Macer, our determined protagonist, finds herself entangled in a murky operation led by Matt Graver and Alejandro Gillick.
“You Should Move to a Small Town Where the Rule of Law Still Exists. You Will Not Survive Here. You Are Not a Wolf. And This is the Land of Wolves Now”
The mission’s true purpose unfolds as an attempt to re-establish control over the pharmaceutical landscape by targeting doctors seen as overly liberal with prescriptions. Alejandro, a former prosecutor whose family was murdered by a cartel, is now an enforcer against a different kind of perceived threat.
5th Generation Warfare: The New Battlefield

5th generation warfare (5GW) is characterized by its use of non-traditional tactics, including psychological operations, information warfare, and the strategic use of technology to influence and control populations.
Unlike traditional warfare, 5GW blurs the lines between combatants and civilians, often using covert means to achieve its objectives. In this speculative scenario, the DEA’s use of predictive data analytics represents a quintessential 5GW tactic, leveraging technology to preemptively target and neutralize perceived threats.

“..Use All Tools..”
Predictive Data Analytics: The New Weapon
In this speculative scenario, the DEA employs predictive data analytics to identify and target doctors and patients in marginalized communities.

This technology, designed to predict potential drug abuse, disproportionately affects those already vulnerable. Much like Kate’s realization in Sicario, the truth behind these operations reveals a disturbing strategy.
Reggie, Kate’s moral compass, urges her to leave, recognizing the unconstitutional overreach. But Kate, driven by a need to understand, follows Alejandro into a world where the lines of justice are dangerously blurred.
Here, data analytics serve as both judge and executioner, with algorithms labeling individuals as threats based on patterns and probabilities, not actual crimes.

The Mission’s Dark Core
The mission against the medical community is not about justice but control. In Sicario, Matt explains the need to revert to a single, manageable cartel.

“..Greedy rich criminal doctor drug dealer with a lavish lifestyle..”
NOT GUILTY
Similarly, the DEA’s strategy aims to centralize control over pain medication, forcing compliance through fear and intimidation.
Alejandro, once a tool of the Medellín Cartel, is now a relentless agent against those deemed complicit in the opioid crisis. When she tries to intervene, Alejandro, much like in Sicario, subdues her with a warning: “Never point a gun at me again.” The doctor, representing the new target of the DEA’s war, faces a fate eerily similar to that of cartel members in the film.
Psychological Operations and Information Warfare

5GW tactics also include psychological operations (psyops) and information warfare. The DEA’s campaign includes disinformation strategies designed to sow fear and mistrust within communities.
Patients are made to fear seeking necessary medical help, and doctors are portrayed as villains in the opioid crisis.
This manipulation of public perception serves to isolate and vilify the targeted groups, making it easier for the DEA to justify their actions.
THE MANIPULATION OF PUBLIC PERCEPTION AND TARGETED GROUPS
Collateral Damage and Moral Dilemmas
As the operation unfolds, the collateral damage becomes evident. Patients who rely on pain medication for legitimate reasons are caught in the crossfire. Silvio, a symbol of the everyday individual ensnared by these tactics, is mirrored by patients and families destroyed by the DEA’s ruthless campaign.
Psychological Warfare: Breaking the Will
Alejandro’s ultimate confrontation with Alarcón in Sicario translates into a metaphorical showdown with the heads of pharmaceutical companies and corrupt officials. The cold execution of Alarcón’s family parallels the destruction of lives through wrongful convictions and ruined careers. The mission’s legality is forced upon Kate, much like the coerced confessions from doctors and patients.
One of the key aspects of 5GW is breaking the will of the enemy without traditional combat. In this speculative scenario, the DEA uses a combination of legal pressure, psychological intimidation, and relentless surveillance to break the will of doctors and patients.

A Dystopian Reality
By creating an atmosphere of constant fear and uncertainty, the DEA ensures compliance and submission without the need for overt violence.

The film’s final moments, where Kate is unable to shoot Alejandro, reflect her inner conflict. She represents the conscience of a society grappling with the morality of such tactics. The distant sounds of gunfire in Nogales become the silent cries of those suffering under the weight of unjust persecution.
In this speculative world, the advice to “move to a small town where the rule of law still exists” underscores a haunting reality: urban centers become battlegrounds where the rule of law is replaced by the rule of wolves.
The DEA, much like the covert operatives in Sicario, operates in shadows, leaving a trail of fear and mistrust.
This dystopian narrative serves as a stark warning about the potential abuse of power and technology.
The DEA’s unconstitutional war against doctors and patients, driven by predictive data analytics and 5th generation warfare tactics, echoes the chilling events of Sicario, reminding us that the quest for control can lead to the erosion of justice and humanity.

My Little Hometown has become a shithole. Due to the aforementioned evil tactics, it is impossible to live here and I am stuck now. I need OUT. Problem is the state itself has begun to persecute anybody needing opioids AND other controlled substances. I have evidence. My provider of ten years had been trying to stabilize me after a disastrous six months on suboxone, with no pain relief and disturbing symptoms and suicidal ideation. She saved my life because she cared, but the state got rid of her and I believe local, mostly religious, board members who own most of the clinics and the hospital here, are responsible in part. I hear things because I talk to people all over the state and ask questions and try to inform that legal opioids weren’t responsible. But when most docs have mentions of the church in their bios, one wonders. And the hospital secretly owns even bigger independent clinics. Or runs them. Hey, I am not a detective… but I should have been. I also heard that the state pharmacy board “cracked down recently” and now believe my nice little (religious) owner of my small pharmacy is under attack based on him telling me off rather rudely lately. I suspect he caused this withdrawal hell by fucking with the doctor who sent me a prescription a week later. I really feel it in my gut, I can’t abide him now. With the entire state somehow involved, and a religious bunch, it gets deep. But these doctors are at fault too because of cowardice or laziness. If in the beginning of this ever growing larger nonsense, they had stood together and given the finger to the CDC guidelines (fraudulent and not their job) maybe we could have stopped it. The docs here are not helpful and I dislike most of them intensely after being traumatised by them for three years and counting. I probably won’t survive it with my new diagnoses, but I will still keep talking until I cannot. So fricking corrupt!
