And if that is the new — it bothers me that this kind of evidence can send a person to prison for as long as this has been going, some many, many years, but in any event, that that is the sort of evidence that is the basis for criminal liability.

America’s War on Drugs is a war on it’s people

Helena B. Hansen, an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at New York University, examines the recent history of White opioids to show how a very different system for responding to the drug use of Whites has emerged, in which addiction is treated primarily as a biomedical disease.
Meanwhile, more punitive systems that govern the drug use of people of color have remained intact. At this seminar, Dr. Hansen argues that public concern about White opioid deaths creates an opportunity to reorient U.S. drug policy toward public health for all—and make proven harm reduction strategies widely available.
THE PAIN AND PROFILING OF MY HEALTH
For at least the last two decades, doctors have been targeted and attacked by the United States Government, specifically the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) both of whom have worked in concert to pursue doctors for what appears, on its face to be financial gain. As with most scandals, investigations, or targeted attacks, following the money is usually where the answer lies. These attacks are no different.
The policing of the practice of medicine is not a Black and Brown problem, but a green problem. Other doctors have been targeted and terminated by their employers only to be unjustly reported to the National Practitioner Data Bank, permanently ending their careers in medicine.
This problem came to light after a series of broadcast produced by Angela Greene on WAOK Radio in Atlanta, Georgia revealed that an alarming number of doctors were being sent to prison for practicing medicine, specifically Medicaid fraud and overprescribing.
The imprisonment of countless doctors has had a devastating effect on healthcare, as it diminishes the availability of physicians to service the communities who depend on them for care. This is a problem we cannot ignore.

That court transcript was from the federal criminal trial of Dr.Rajendra Bothra and the other Detroit pain center physicians last summer.
Dr. Patel was secretly recording the other doctors and accidentally recorded himself deliberately providing these patients with misinformation
There was a complaint against his license filed with the state of Delaware.
During the Detroit Pain Center trial undercover physician rat Hersh Patel used a tape recorder to record the other doctors but accidentally recorded himself confusing the elderly patients saying they could possibly go to jail for using the opioids prescribed.
Also called patients ghetto.
- Marginalized communities are targeted in prosecutions and in terms of what patient populations are denied care and/or subject to losing their physicians because of law enforcement’s malicious and often frivolous persecutions of doctors of color.
Of 1465 medical practitioners whose data was analyzed, Black doctors comprised only 8.46% of the group, but they are disproportionately targeted and penalized for practicing medicine.
