THE RULING CAN’T HOLD UP UNDER APPEAL
On November 23, 2021 a jury in Ohio agreed with the plaintiffs charges that Walmart, CVS, and Walgreens were guilty of contributing to the opiate epidemic by filling prescriptions of doctors for opiate pain medication that they knew would be sold on the black market.
Nothing could be further from the truth. This ruling means the pharmacist becomes the doctor deciding which prescription gets filled.

This ruling further implies that the pharmacists have the last say as to whether a legally licensed prescriber, prescribing an FDA-approved medication should be filled. Nowhere in the laws of the US has this authority been given to pharmacists. This ruling can’t hold up under appeal.

According to the FDA and CSA the right to prescribe is solely that of the prescriber. While I am sure this will be overturned on appeal, the idea that it became a legitimate legal case is frightening.

However, the DOJ/DEA is responsible for this hysteria and misinformation.
For years they have arrested and incarcerated health care providers using the lie that pharmaceutical companies and physicians were responsible for the opiate epidemic.

WE CONGRESSIONAL OVERSIGHT ON DEA
When in fact it was their actions that fueled the epidemic and continue to be the cause of the increase in overdose deaths.
We need a congressional investigation into these and other tactics that not only cause innocent individuals to be incarcerated but now threatened the doctor-patient relationship.
CONGRESS MUST CLEAN UP THIS MESS
