Opiod War Directly related to White Racism: from footnote 37 “White Party, White Government”, pg 12, HHS report White Opiod: Pharmaceutical race and The war on drugs that wasn’t. 2017
“American exceptionalism, the view of this new country as quite excep- tional, was generally Eurocentric and racialized from the early decades of colonization. One key feature of European

Americans’ exceptionalism was an aggressively racial framing and marginalization of Americans of color, both indigenous and African Americans, who did not fit the narrative of exceptional and positive American strengths, abilities, and values.

Integral to European and European American colonialism was a predatory ethic asserting the rights of European “settlers” to the land and labor of inferior- ized others. Initially, this predatory ethic was dressed up in religious lan- guage. Early European Americans saw themselves as not normally possessing the negative qualities of the “creatures of darkness,” the indigenous peoples of the areas

they invaded. As several historians have shown, they viewed themselves as rational, ascetic, self-governing, and sexually controlled, while the Native American and African American “others” were commonly seen as irrational, uncivilized, instinctual, and uncontrolled.”
