I have several of the conditions that we focus on. We focus on Rare Diseases, mainly adhesive arachnoiditis, but we also discuss links between AA and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, EBV, Cytomegalovirus, and many other subjects, including advocacy and community connections.

I know you’re one of the busiest people on the planet. If you could ever carve out a half hour to appear as a special guest on a 1hr educational and informational medical show with Dr Tennant and Friends, we would be forever grateful.
And YES….anxiety…..I am creating a video as we speak, which will be available asap, and it mentions how several well-meaning (but ignorant) people may blame the severe physical pain and other symptoms on things like anxiety or depression (especially in women), when the truth is the physical symptoms are what caused the anxiety and/or depression.
And many times, the physical feeling of anxiety is present when there is no emotional anxiety, due to dysautonomia/ autonomic nervous system dysfunction and/or central nervous system dysfunction.
This makes things much worse for the person who is already intensely suffering from horrendous symptoms of these conditions. It’s a vicious cycle, for sure.
And if we are asked if we are depressed- and I don’t know anybody who wouldn’t be depressed when their body is not cooperating with them- then sometimes the physical symptoms are dismissed completely and blamed on depression.
Thank you for bringing this out. It’s so important.
You bring up so many important real-life situations; it would be such an honor to have you with us to help more people open their eyes to the reality of our plight, while creating awareness and offering practical ways to live well with conditions that were once mostly invariably fatal.
THE BLESSING OF SMALL FIBER NERVE BIOPSY FOR DETECTING PAIN
Adhesive arachnoiditis, for example, used to be called the devil’s disease in the 1800s, as nobody survived it, and due to the severe pain and neurological issues it causes. After I had brain surgery for Chiari type 1 malformation, I developed CRPS/RSD in the back of my head, in my neck, and in my face and mouth.
When adhesive arachnoiditis progressed, and I had drop foot, and ended up tearing more tendons and ligaments in my ankle that had been operated on three times already, CRPS developed in that ankle and calf, and so it is now considered full body.
We want to bring awareness, and also awareness to the Pain Care crisis.
We want people to have their diseases recognized, diagnosed, and adequately treated, aggressively and early. “
