The provided sources focus on the misconduct of former U.S. District Judge Joshua Kindred, detailing his resignation and the subsequent demands for his disbarment. Reports from the Ninth Circuit Judicial Council reveal Kindred engaged in sexual harassment, created a hostile work environment for his law clerks, and had inappropriate sexualized relationships with two federal prosecutors, all while repeatedly lying during the investigation. One source reports that the judge’s resignation came after the revelation of his misconduct, which included unwanted sexual conduct with a former law clerk who later became an assistant U.S. attorney. Additionally, Kindred’s misconduct led to a defendant, Jessica Spayd, arguing to have her thirty-year sentence for opioid-related felonies vacated, claiming Kindred’s relationships with prosecutors created an unethical conflict of interest that compromised her case. Finally, a group of concerned citizens is actively supporting the demand for Kindred’s disbarment before the Supreme Court Disciplinary Committee, citing numerous ethical and professional rule violations.
THE RISE AND FALL OF FEDERAL JUDGE JOSHUA KINDRED THE APPEARANCE OF CORRUPTION

Public Support for Disbarment of Joshua Kindred
Dear Ms. Blair:
We represent a Group of concerned citizens supporting the Alaska Bar Association’s recommendation to disbar former federal Judge Joshua Kindred before the Supreme Court Disciplinary Committee.
Based on the Ninth Circuit’s findings of sustained sexual harassment, an undisclosed romantic liaison with a subordinate clerk, and repeated falsehoods during the investigation, the employee has irrevocably breached core standards.

⚖️ ⚖️ ⚖️
Under Alaska Bar Rule 15(a)(1), that’s clear misconduct; Rule of Professional Conduct 1.16 prohibits ignoring obvious conflicts; ABA Model Rule 8.43 forbids lying to any tribunal; and 1.7 outright bans that relationship. These aren’t gray areas-they’re disqualifying. Please hold the line.
There is 100 percent expectation that Judges may not be corrupt.
Please express our concerns to the committee.
Sincerely,
Arnold Feldman, MD (ret.)
