SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA: OPIOID SETTLEMENT DISMISSED AGAINST PURDUE PHARMA AND THE SACKLERS: “THERE WAS NEVER A PRESCRIPTION OPIOID CRISIS:” THE FUGELSANG ADDENDUM 2.1

CHIEF JUSTICE JOHN ROBERTS:

SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES

Syllabus
HARRINGTON, UNITED STATES TRUSTEE, REGION 2
v. PURDUE PHARMA L. P. ET AL. CERTIORARI TO THE UNITED STATES COURT OF APPEALS FOR
THE SECOND CIRCUIT
No. 23–124. Argued December 4, 2023—Decided June 27, 2024

“…Between 1999 and 2019, approximately 247,000 people in the United States died from prescription-opioid overdoses. Respondent Purdue Pharma sits at the center of that crisis. Owned and controlled by the Sackler family, Purdue began marketing OxyContin, an opioid prescription pain reliever, in the mid-1990s. After Purdue earned billions of dollars in sales on the drug, in 2007, one of its affiliates pleaded guilty to a federal felony for misbranding OxyContin as a less addictive, less abusable alternative to other pain medications. Thousands of lawsuits followed…”

Unfortunately, the above opening narrative by the Supreme Court of the United States of America “…Between 1999 and 2019, approximately 247,000 people in the United States died from prescription-opioid overdoses...,” exposes the DOJ-D.E.A.’s seriously flawed-false analysis of the so-called prescription opioid crisis.

However, the opinion of this court to vacate the Opioid settlements against Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family in case No. 23-124 was absolutely correct!!

“..Is it not true that historically, most, if not all, of the great breakthroughs and advances in medical science have been made by people who did not follow the conventional way of doing things?
They followed a new way, their way, and most of the conventional physicians of their day would have disagreed with them because this is not how it has always been done.
And if that is new — it bothers me that this kind of evidence can send a person to prison for as long as this has been going, some many, many years, but in any event, that that is the sort of evidence that is the basis for criminal liability…”
These people were Nurses, Dentists, Pharmacists, and Physicians; they were not frauds?!!

FOIA REQUEST ON PDMP NARXCHECK SCORES

Mr. Flansbaum,

I am doing a peer review validity check of your retrospective study, NarxCheck Score as a Predictor of Unintentional Overdose Death.  Can you please send me the raw data so I can verify your data and results?  I have attached to this email Appriss’s publication referral to you for requesting the raw data for independent analysis and study.  I would appreciate it if I could also have the contact information for the individuals involved in the statistical calculations involved.

Sincerely,

Neil Anand M.D.

WHAT IS A LEGITIMATE MEDICAL PURPOSE???

“..What is a legitimate medical reason to prescribe an opiate medication today?  For pain or addiction?  Who decides which patients are worthy of treatment? This question is not just of academic interest.

Any prescribing medical provider today must constantly live in fear that a law enforcement agent somewhere will disagree with the prescriber’s answer to these questions.  On its face, it seems simple.  If a patient has severe pain, a prescriber can treat that pain with medications approved for that purpose.

The same goes for addiction. Simple right?  Not really.

There is a fundamental disconnect between how law enforcement sees people and how good healthcare providers see them.  In short, law enforcement hopes to find a reason to lock someone up.  Making arrests gets them awards and promotions. It’s what they do.  They look at people as potential targets of prosecution..”

  1. Every severe and chronic pain patient, and patient who needs psychiatric medication that is controlled for their disease states are treated like a criminal in this country NOT a medical patient due to the death grip the DEA (with no qualified healthcare personnel or professionals in its organization) on the Medical Care and Health Industry in this country.
Doctors, pharmacists, psychiatrists, insurance specialists and agents, patients and numerous other people within the healthcare community from specialists to mere support personnel are finding themselves being detained, questioned, fired, fighting for their careers, in jail, prison, or dead because of the massive fraudulent, waste and outright abuse of federal resources and power within the Department of Justice.
The fact that only 0.3% of all “virgin” ( for lack of a better term) medically prescribed opiates resulted in death by overdose in patients is a statistic that the federal government and the DEA and CDC remain hidden from the American People. And this statistic has not changed for decades. When the plethora of other groups and causes are swept away and the data is critically examined, it remains the truth today.
The other categories are prior-use, use- oriented, chart history of abuse/use, etc. These elements, when separated in the data, show that predisposition to abuse, aka addiction, which the DEA, CDC (their job) deny, but not the FDA and psychiatric groups in America, and documented studies within these organizations support that a addiction predisposition or gene exists.
The fact that non-health personnel and political powers are driving the “War on Opioids” and not medical educated and the bulk of the HHS is clear by the number of deaths in the TREATED PATIENTS IN THE MEDICAL FIELD due to SUICIDE, nothing merely the ones left to flounder or forced into the CONTAMINATED illegal pain prescription medication street market that is killing anybody that ventures into it with Chinese Poisonous and deadly CHEMICAL FENTANYL coming over the border.
The only way to save our healthcare system and the American People IT serves is to make the Washington SERVANTS we elect realize they are in danger as well from it. And that is to make them understand all humans are simply flesh and bone— at mercy to the human body. And the DEA has lost sight of that. They have as an institution that is.
People haven’t. Opiates are still the end line and most effective treatment for untreated and untreatable moderate to severe pain. Nothing can take their place. To not treat an American citizen who is suffering with such pain is the equivalent to torture which is illegal in this country.
It’s time to stand up for the rights of hundreds of thousands of PEOPLE who are suffering and dying ILLEGALLY in this country because of the DEA and the DOJ and the VERY PEOPLE WE ELECT to protect us from persecution.
No more sitting down and waiting to die.
    It’s PAST time.

    1. I totally agree. It is not as if legal opioids haven’t been around for a long time, and it seems that those wishing to prohibit any substance an addict might use to get high have conveniently forgotten the real facts about opioids and chronic/intractable pain. Pain harms the body. I won’t go into the many ways but it should be common medical knowledge that it can cause early death if undertreated. Many people could show a direct line leading from that dose reduction that was not only unnecessary but finally just not therapeutic, to a degrading of their overall health and wellbeing. Opioids do not just treat pain, they have anti-inflammatory effects that I suspect many of us need. We live in these bodies. It is not that hard to make the connection from feeling stable medically to feeling as if maybe we shouldn’t bother anymore. We are indeed being treated so badly that it would seem discriminatory. People who really need a controlled substance when it hasn’t been abused or caused any ill effects shouldn’t have the substance taken away for no good medical reason. Yet that seems to be the popular thinking among those in the various anti-opioid groups. Just threaten the hell out of those involved and revoke the licenses of any who don’t accept this skewed thinking. These idiots who involved the CDC this time (when it was not their job), need to be reminded of all the “unintended harms” now rampant across this country. I believe that some state governments are also not even following the CDC guidelines that they based their prescribing laws upon. Where are the amendments which could protect so called “legacy patients” who were doing well on high dose opioid treatment for many years? Do these medical people involved (or just falling in line obediently) not understand that the substances some of us NEED to have any life at all also make changes to the brain? It is not as simple as tapering and weaning down patients whose bodies are so afflicted they need more than a non-medically appropriate and arbitrary dosage limit? People are dying! The most maddening thing of all may be the fact that addiction has always been rare in chronic pain patients. Yet the doctors treating such patients, which the CDC itself stated were not meant to be affected by these limits, are targeted for persecution. Of course they are afraid…but it would really help us out if they also would loudly and clearly state that they won’t tolerate it any longer. I fail to see why all the providers who really feel bad about what is happening can’t be bothered to write emails and send to the legislators in their states. They would be heard more easily than patients, but both would be ideal. Am I just dreaming? I may be, but until I am dead it would feel wrong not to try something. I may not be looking at much more time. Sadly, it is not just me. I’d like to add that Dr. Richard “Red” Lawhern is actively opposed to this bs, and has made it much easier to write to legislators by allowing all of us to copy and endorse his impressive work. He can easily be found through googling.

  2. It is beyond frustrating to know that CPP’s are suffering. It is time for Surgeon’s and other MD’s to speak up! I am a CPP who needs a revision of a hip-but won’t do it. Why? Because I do NOT want to suffer. I have read too many horror stories of people having major surgery, and left to cope with their pain with just tylenol. Isn’t that just plain cruel? There is NO logic to suffering!
I call it TORTURE!! When I worked as a Nurse-we didn’t have to deal with this insanity. We medicated all post-op patients, and none of them suffered ill effects from narcotics (opioids). I think of the trailblazer RN in Nursing, and her name was Margo Mc Caffery.
She believed in pain management-and said that pain is what the patient says it is! A very well respected individual. So, let’s see if there are some BRAVE Souls left in pain management and healthcare in general!! Please speak up for ALL of us who need these lifesaving pain meds. It is way overdue!! Right now I am suffering not only hip pain-but sciatica from a narrowing from my back w/a bulging disc. When is this going to stop-because if this illogic continues with the DEA in charge-so many more untreated pain patients will die. Sincerely, Kathleen Clark, RN (retired).
