Today the CDC released its latest data on the continued increase in drug overdose deaths.

There were over 106,000 deaths this past year up from 100,000 last year. 75 percent of those deaths were due to illicit fentanyl. This was also true when it came to those deaths in 2021.

What is missing from that data is that not all those deaths were the result of individuals who are addicted to opiates. Illicit fentanyl is being sold to people who were seeking Xanax and Adderall. Also, people who were seeking cocaine and methamphetamine.

They’ve known it’s been an illicit fentanyl poisoning crisis all along.

So in addition to those seeking opiates, Oxycodone, and heroin, other individuals are sold illicit fentanyl without their knowledge. The government alarm bells need to be ringing 24/7 to try to prevent this trend. The immediate intervention would be the legalization of all drugs.
