THE DOJ-DEA GRAND OPIOID DECEPTION SCHEME
In September 2021 I wrote a letter to Merrick Garland concerning the unintended consequences of the DOJ/DEA and state AG’S actions. I like many of my colleagues were arrested and charged with various crimes. I like many of my colleagues had my medical license and DEA license seized on or near my arrest date and before any convictions were handed down. As a result, some of our patients went to the streets for relief and died of a drug overdose. That happened to two of my patients and numerous other patients of health care providers.
I asked Mr. Garland to call a halt to that process until something could be put in place to protect the innocent. In that letter, I also pointed out that the 2016 CDC guidelines were being used unjustly to convict health care providers. Yesterday on April 15, 2022, I received a letter from Thomas Prevosnik from the control division pointing out the authority that the Controlled Substance Act grants to the physician to prescribe controlled medication as long as it is for a professional purpose and a legitimate medical reason.
The letter was similar to the one written by the same agency to another Richard Lawhern Ph.D., in 2019. In his answer to me, he correctly implies that CSA is a regulatory act and the prescribing, dose and quantity are up to the prescribing physician.
Technically he is correct. The DEA doesn’t bring charges against physicians the DOJ does. It is to the DOJ headed by Merrick Garland that I wrote the letter in September 2021. So my questions and concerns have not been addressed. I will write back and request that my concerns be sent to the DOJ division that oversees the prosecutions of health care providers.
